CANCER TREATMENT

Cancer treatment varies depending upon your type of cancer, stage of cancer, and overall condition. Additionally, your treatment may vary depending on whether or not the goal of your treatment is to cure your cancer, keep your cancer from spreading, or to relieve the symptoms caused by cancer. Depending on these factors, you may receive one or more of the following: Chemotherapy, Surgery, Radiation, Biological therapy or Hormonal therapy. One or more treatment s may be used to provide you with the most effective cancer treatment. Increasingly, it is common to use several cancer treatments together or in sequence with the goal of preventing recurrence. Since there is no known cure for cancer, the best method of defense is early detection and cancer treatment. Regular visits to your doctor will increase your chances of early cancer detection.

Cancer can be found in anyone at any age. If Cancer has been detected in your body, Cancer treatment is your only hope. While there is no cure for Cancer, research has come a long way, and there are many cancer treatments available. In most cases, if Cancer is detected early, recovery is almost guaranteed. What is cancer? When the body's cells become abnormal and duplicate out of control a tumor is formed. This tumor may be cancerous or benign (non-cancerous). Normal body cells divide in a controlled and relativly slow rate. Malignant cells duplicate in an uncontrolled manner and often very rapidly. If the tumor is malignant the disease may develop in other parts of the body where secondary tumors may form. This is known as metastasis. Cancer is not a single disease but a wide range of different diseases.Cancers can be classified into two broad types: haematological (malignancies of the blood) or solid tumors. The name of the cancer depends on the type of tissue or site it develops in. A sarcoma is a cancer arising from bone, muscle or connective tissue, and a carcinoma is cancer arising from epithelial tissue (cells of the glands and the outer layer of skin that lines blood vessels, hollow organs and the body's orifices). Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Nearly half of all men and a little over one-third of all women in the US will develop cancer during their lifetimes. Today, millions of people are living with cancer or have had cancer. The risk of developing most types of cancer can be reduced by changes in a person's lifestyle, for example, by quitting smoking and eating a healthier diet. The sooner a cancer is found and treatment begins, the better the survival rate. Some cancers are particular to men and women. Breast cancer is one of the most common neoplasms, predominantly found in women.. Associated with the female reproductive system are cervical, ovarian, and other genealogical cancers. In men, prostate cancer is one of the major neoplasms, other cancers of the male reproductive system iclude testis and penile cancer. wE provide access to free resources and information about Cancer and Cancer Treatment.
